Week 3, Encourage government to use web standards

If we talk about web standard before 1999, this is not an important thing and has not a large of people know the significance. Nowadays, we can use many difference kinds of browsers to browse the web pages. Therefore, the web standard is the key things about the web page can show the best viewed on the browsers.
Ex-Chief Executive of Hong Kong SAR Mr Tung Chee Hwa said "Delay No More"(與時並進). But our government's web site is not use the web standard. The government encourages people to use the E-service, and the government provides many E- services, for instance, e-Stamping of Property Document or appointment booking for smart ID card etc... But the web site is not usability and accessibility. I think our government need to use the web standards, accessibility and web design methodology to re-design the web page.

  • Web standards (Using the web standards can avoid the web page become chaotic and useless)
  • Increased accessibility (For instance, the web site can show to a difference devices)
  • Smaller downloads (Increasing the loading time, it is because the government have many information to provide for people)
  • User friendly (The web site can easy to use by the user)

What is the your swearing at? "Delay No More"
What "English Standard" you are using?
You have better to think twice before expressing your idea.
